100 DAYS OF ART!

I have succeeded with 100 days of art. I can't help but be a little proud of myself right about now!

DAY 95 - April 05, 2010
TITLE: Flower Therapy
MEDIUM: Markers

After a long day, flower doodles make me feel so much better. :)

DAY 96 - April 06, 2010
TITLE: Y-Control
MEDIUM: Water color, acrylic, & Markers

This is inspired by a line from Y Control by the Yeah, Yeah, Yeah's. My friend Michele and I were listening to this song and we both agreed that that line is awesome. I, personally, wouldn't mind getting that woman back...

DAY 97 - April 07, 2010
TITLE: Shoe Labels II
MEDIUM: Pens and Markers

I've been doing a good job with not buying shoes this past few months, but I caved!! Here are the drawings I'm going to use to label my shoe cases.

DAY 98 - April 08, 2010
TITLE: Drunken Delilah
MEDIUM: Pen on Doggie Bag

I was drinking with some friends at Bully's and decided to do some drunken doodles. "Hey There Delilah" by the Plain White T's was playing, and now, as you can see, my visual rendition of it is now on a doggie bag. :)

DAY 99 - April 09, 2010
TITLE: Pretty Popper
MEDIUM: Markers

It was slow at work, so after prepping and cleaning, I doodled on my bottle opener. :P

DAY 100 - April 10, 2010
TITLE: Nella 100
MEDIUM: Pencil

So, for my 100th day of art, I decided to do something special, like a self-portrait. I decided to try doing it from this photo:

As you can see, portraits are not my specialty because I don't even think it resembles the photo at all. However, this is all a part of the process into becoming a better artist. With much more practice, maybe my next portrait post will be better. :)

Kawaii Nails

DAY 36 - February 05, 2010
TITLE: Kawaii Nails
MEDIUM: Nail Polish and rhinestones

I had an insomniac moment yesterday and decided to do my nails around midnight. By the time I finished, it was 2AM and I was so sleepy, but I had to wait for the nail polish to dry. It took forever to do this because I had exactly 20 rhinestones to use and everytime I put needed to use one, it would fall and I had to look for it. I couldn't find one of them, so I just had to settle for just 19 stones.

Flower power

Despite my cycle of hangovers over the weekend, I would say it was a fairly productive one. I started my weekend a little early on Thursday when dinner with friends and stargazing for my Astronomy class turned into a few drinks. Friday morning, I swore off drinking for awhile, but as it turns out, "awhile" was later on that night when I had drinks with friends I haven't seen in a while. So, on Saturday, I decided not to take any phone calls and locked myself in my house in order to resist the call of a good party.

The rest of my weekend went something like this: paint, cook, paint, read a book, paint, and do homework. I have been wanting to paint for the last couple of weeks but couldn't really think of anything to paint. I decided to paint some flowers since flowers are always fun and always present some kind of challenge. These are the results of my weekend lock-in.

DAY 30: January 30, 2010
TITLE: Happy :)
MEDIUM: Acrylic on Canvas

Aside from wanting to paint, it was also my aunt's birthday and I wanted to do something nice for her. This painting is about to be bubble-wrapped and sent to California.

DAY 31: January 31, 2010
TITLE: Luna
MEDIUM: Acrylic on Canvas

After all the nights of stargazing and having the beautiful moon shining on me, I felt inspired to do a moon piece. For the flowers, I decided to go with the same moon theme and tried to paint moon flowers, but I don't think it turned out how I wanted to, despite all the work I put into it this weekend. The work did pay off, since I think it turned out beautifully (if I do say so myself!).

And with that, I am proud to say that I have completed my first month of 365 Days of Art. :)
