Zodiac Road Trip

School's been out since last Friday, but I've still been a very busy bee. Today is the first day I've had to do absolutely nothing, but I thought I'd blog because I didn't want to get anymore behind than I already am.

DAY 137 - MAY 17, 2010
TITLE: Zodiac Road trip
MEDIUM: Pens and highlighters

While reviewing for Astronomy, I zoned out for a bit and started doodling on my star charts. Thought about a road trip on the zodiac so I can figure out why Capricorns are so cavalier, Geminis are so indecisive, Scorpios are so manipulative, Cancers are so passive-aggressive, Aries are so stubborn, Sagitarians crave so much attention, and why Leos are so arrogant.

:P

DAY 138 - May 18, 2010
TITLE: Extra-celestial
MEDIUM: Nail polish

In honor of the Luna & Venus tryst of a couple of weeks ago, I decided to do my nails. I'm really digging the design, however I fell asleep while waiting for it to dry and so it got a little messed up. Should've taken a picture of it instantly after I did it. Bleh.

GOOD BYE SPRING 2010! It has been nice to know you (not really)!
A little over a week ago, I was sitting at the bar, enjoying a drink, my friend Mark started playing "Heartbreak Warfare" by John Mayer. I finished my drink quickly and left for home. I got an idea and I didn't want it to escape me.

DAY 134 & 135 - May 14 & 15, 2010
TITLE: (Work in Progress)
MEDIUM: Pencil and Ink

On the left is a sloppy sketch of the idea. The inventory included: Nunchucks, ninja stars, a rifle, a glock, a samurai sword, dynamite, a pirate sword, a dagger, a spiked ball, a grenade, brass knuckes, and rope.

The next day, I took off dynamite and brass knucklesm off the inventory and added a bow & arrow started stippling away. I am glad I put off stippling for the next day because how could I have forgotten the bow & arrow when I'm such a Legolas fan? :P

DAY 136 - MAY 16, 2010
TITLE: Heartbreak Warfare
MEDIUM: Ink

The final piece -

"Once you want it to begin,
No one really ever wins
In heartbreak warfare"

- John Mayer

I LOVE how it turned out. If I do say so myself. I haven't done this technique in a long time and it took forever, but it sure was worth it.
